During my early years working in the educational field, I quickly became highly focused on continuing to build my own knowledge base regarding teaching children with special needs. As a development therapist working with infants and toddlers, I had the opportunity to support multiple families through the process of their child receiving a diagnosis of Autism. The time spent supporting them, connecting them to agencies and introducing them to different domains of services (speech therapy, OT, PT etc) afforded me the opportunity to become devoted to this particular group of clients. I continued my education and experience by receiving my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. My work as a Behavior Specialist highlighted my desire to continue my work in this field. I attended Florida Institute of Technology to complete my post Master’s coursework to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Past client’s and their families have described me as devoted, passionate, honest and real. They are encouraged to keep fighting for appropriate education and services for their children based on my recommendations and supervision of staff working with them. One AnswersNow parent stated “Thanks for all your great effort and suggestions. You know that you are one in a million, don’t you? “I can’t thank you enough for your enthusiasm.”
I am passionate about providing evidence-based treatment that can be carried out by caregivers. Collaborating with team members to gain better understanding of the overall development and needs of my clients allows me an opportunity to continue to grow and learn as a professional.
Transitioning off cases due to employment change.
Client transitioned back to a brick and mortar school following multiple years with at home services due to maladaptive behaviors. She was eventually able to graduate from that school.
