I try to help clients and their families understand the client’s strengths and how we can use them to meet their goals and teach them something new.

When I was in college I applied to be a teacher’s assistant in an ABA school in New York City which is where I was first introduced to ABA therapy. I was studying psychology at the time and when I graduated the only people practicing ABA therapy were special educators. So I worked with kids with autism as a special educator and after a while I figured it would just be best if I got the rest of my letters and became a BCBA!
My previous clients would say I’m good at making ABA accessible to them and explaining to them behavioral principles so that they can use them.
I love being able to help families connect with their kids and I love helping kids open up their world and communicate their wants and needs.
It has been a challenge in the past with older children that have severe behaviors where the learning history is so strong to maintain the behaviors. It is always complicated to get cooperation between the home and the school and have the therapists all on the same page to address that challenge.
Every time I help a kid say their first word or first demand. They just get it, they get how it works and I love that.
