ABA therapy is one of the options that can bring the support many families missed last year. If you still have questions if this might (or might not) be the right option for a child, teen, or adult in your care, we want to share 5 reasons why you should give it a try in 2021:

1. It’s an Evidence-Based Practice.

Applied Behavior Analysis, or ABA, is an evidence-based practice, using systematic, proven methods and techniques to improve socially significant behaviors in children with autism.

That means: it’s a science, using methods that have been repeatedly tested, to help people increase behaviors that are socially rewarding and that we want to see more of (ex. social skills) as well as to decrease behaviors that are socially punishing and we want to see less of (ex. aggression). Typically skills are taught via repetition using motivators that are important to that individual.

2. It can fit your family's needs.

You can choose a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) that is experienced in the areas that you are seeking assistance. Just ask them about their previous set of experiences and if they’ve worked with individuals that are similar in age and skill level to the child/teen or adult that’s under your care.

3. It can help outside of your house too.

Do you feel like you could use some extra support for your IEP meetings? The BCBA working with your family will help you to navigate and set up goals that meet your expectation and make sure all components of your child’s life are taken into consideration.

4. It can be flexible enough to adjust to your availability.

No time? No problem! You can choose an online ABA therapy provider, like AnswersNow. It’s a great option because clinicians can make it work according to your schedule, and it extends way beyond the 9-5 that you usually see in regular office hours or in-home services.

5. It can be covered by your insurance.

Many insurance policies will cover ABA therapy sessions. AnswersNow Online ABA Therapy is covered right now by major insurance plans in Virginia and will be expanding to other states soon.

So why not start the year with an action instead of a plan? AnswersNow is currently accepting new patients in Virginia, and there is no waitlist for our online ABA therapy.
