What I Love Most About What I Do

I love working with the family’s and being a source of positivity in their lives.

Most Challenging Professional Moment

The first few years as a BCBA was very challenging. I worked with clients who had high rates of self-injury, aggression and property destruction with no history of early intervention for most cases. It was very daunting teaching communicative responses to 18-year old’s who have no prior history of reinforcement with that skillset.

Most Rewarding Professional Moment

Teaching a client who couldn’t see how to independently dress themselves and safely tolerate trips into the community like going to the doctor or grocery store, by exercising functional requests, such as can we leave, I need a break, etc that helped promote his self-advocacy and thus made the community much more enjoyable and tolerable for that individual.
