I am a parent first and I understand that parenting is hard, especially parenting a child with a disability. I will teach a parent to use behavioral principles to help change this within the family dynamic, if needed, for a better quality family life. Consistency is key. I will also meet parents where they are at and build from there. In my work with clients, compassion is key and making sure that clients feel heard is extremely important. While changing maladaptive behaviors is important, it is very important to make sure that the client’s feelings are validated, and that compliance is not forced just strictly for the purpose of compliance.

I saw what a difference ABA was making in the lives of children with autism and wanted to progress within my career to help more families and children with developmental disabilities (not just autism).
I am dedicated to the families that I work with. I want what is best for the family as a whole. Most challenging professional moment: Having a client move to a more restrictive environment such as an inpatient or residential facility.
I love watching the “soft”/social skills come into a client’s repertoire; yes, the big skills matter but the small skills are the ones that normally get missed when looking at a client’s progress as a whole.

Watching one of my previous clients graduate high school with an advanced high school diploma.
