My Work Style

I am a very-detailed orientated and organized person; however, I realize that everyone learns and thinks in different ways. I am interested in understanding your work style so we can most effectively work together. My goal as a clinician is to give parents the tools and the kiddos the skills to not need me anymore. There is a saying that behavior analysts work to put themselves out of a job and that could not be truer. I am interested in understanding your work style so we can most effectively work together. My goal as a clinician is to give parents the tools and the kiddos the skills to not need me anymore. There is a saying that behavior analysts work to put themselves out of a job and that could not be truer. To accomplish that goal, I will: take the time to learn about your child and your family, provide training on behavior analytic principles, work with you to create skills acquisition and behavior reduction plans, train you and all individuals that spend time with your kiddo such as babysitters, teachers, and siblings how to implement plans, and have ongoing and honest conversations regarding progress and discharge.

What I Do To De-stress In My Free Time

I am about all things fitness. I was previously a dancer and aerialist. I continue to train these skills as well as workout as much as possible. I also love the outdoors and on weekends I am most likely hiking, camping, or kayaking.

Why I Became a BCBA

I believe individuals with Autism have much to contribute to the world and are capable of amazing things; however, they are often faced with many barriers to unlocking their full potential. I am passionate about reducing these barriers and creating a supportive environment in which individuals with Autism can live their fullest and happiest life. Every member of society is valuable and deserves the chance at a happy and productive life.

What Previous Clients Would Say About Me

I believe they would say we made a great team. Parents know their child best and I am passionate about working with the family to develop behavior reduction and skill acquisition plans together.

What I Love Most About What I Do

The progress! Watching the quality of an individual’s life increase with the acquisition of new skills is the best!

Most Challenging Professional Moment

I have worked with individuals with seizure disorders or other physical conditions that have led to regression after achieving significant progress. This can feel defeating, but I have found that these skills are usually relearned at a faster pace than when they were originally acquired.

Most Rewarding Professional Moment

Behavioral cusps are skills that open the door for individuals to access the benefits of and contribute to society. For example, if a non-verbal child learns to request for items he or she wants, the child now has increased his or her ability to participate in the world. When kiddos acquire behavioral cusps, I am overjoyed, and I love sharing in the parents’ excitement.
