My Work Style

I pride myself in being a thorough, detail oriented clinician. I believe in a collaborative approach to ensure that the goals we create together are meaningful in the lives of each client. I love being part of a field that is ever evolving and I am always looking for ways to grow as a clinician whether that is through collaboration with other BCBAs, by listening to behavior analytic podcasts, or attending conferences.

Area of Expertise

Verbal Behavior, Early Intensive Intervention (EII), Natural Environment Teaching (NET), parent training and on-going support, social skills, toilet training, learning readiness, functional communication training, school based instruction, and multi-disciplinary collaboration.

What I Do To De-stress In My Free Time

Most of my free time is spent enjoying my two little guys and my husband. We love visiting all of the local parks and game nights!

Why I Became a BCBA

I started working with children in 2006 while completing my undergraduate degree and fell in love with the science of Applied Behavior Analysis. I am highly motivated by the progress of my clients and felt that I could make the biggest impact by becoming board certified.

What Previous Clients Would Say About Me

I believe they would say that I am patient, understanding, and knowledgeable. I strive to focus on the family unit as a whole and ensure that the goals we develop together are of social significance.

What I Love Most About What I Do

I love data! I love being able to look at trends and to make data driven decisions. I also love being part of the small victories- like when a family tells you that they were able to eat out at a restaurant for the first time together because of the progress their child has made. I find it rewarding to have contributed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Most Challenging Professional Moment

My most challenging moment as a professional was when I had to discharge a client due to safety concerns. I always want to make a positive impact in each of my client’s lives and unfortunately there are sometimes barriers that make it difficult to do so.

Most Rewarding Professional Moment

I love when I see a family for the first time (after I had conducted the initial assessment) and the parent tells me that their child has continually used a functional communication phrase that I had incidentally modeled for them during the assessment. It has only happened a few times, but I love being able to make a meaningful impact in such a quick time!
